Alan Shi is a senior undergraduate student in the Materials Science and Engineering department at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor. His research foci are in nanotechnology, polymer synthesis, and hydrogel fabrication, which has led him to develop passions in health and bioengineering. He is currently working on developing stimuli-responsive inverse opal hydrogel templates for use in further study of the ECM, with a goal in eventual practical applications.
