Heather is a 5th year PhD student in the Cancer Biology program at the University of Michigan, co-mentored by Dr. Costas Lyssiotis. She studies cell intrinsic organization in 3D, and how this rewires cysteine metabolism to prevent cell death in pancreatic cancer. In a broader scope, she is interested in understanding the role of thermodynamics and the specific functions of water in shaping cell biology.
