Dr. Matt Tan is a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Michigan’s Department of Materials Science and Engineering. He previously completed his Ph.D. at Cornell University with Prof. Claudia Fischbach using engineered model systems to study metabolic regulation of breast cancer invasion towards the vasculature. Matt’s current research interest is dissecting the microenvironmental regulation of nascent ECM and its role in directing cell function in the context of lung fibrosis using a combination of ex vivo and in vitro biomaterial platforms.
EDUCATION
2023 | Ph.D. | Biomedical Engineering, Fischbach Lab | Cornell University
2015 | M.S.E. | Biomedical Engineering | University of Michigan
2014 | B.S. | Biomedical Engineering | University of Michigan
Now
Postdoctoral Fellow, PCCM T32 Fellow
